Battle Creek meanders through this remote stretch of Hill County, Montana, just south of the international boundary with Canada. The drainage, also labeled in parts as Battle Cr, provides the primary topographic definition for this prairie landscape. This 2017 U.S. Geological Survey map documents the hydrologic patterns and basic section lines of the region, illustrating the seasonal watercourses that feed into the larger basin. While the map is characterized by its open terrain and lack of dense settlement, it preserves the exact course of the creek as it transitions across the high plains near the border.
