The southern portion of the map is dominated by the northern reaches of Emmett, where the river splits around Fuller Island and Ross Island. This area showcases the complex water management systems of the early 21st century, including the Farmers Cooperative Canal, Last Chance Canal, and the Black Canyon Canal. To the northeast, the Black Canyon Reservoir is held back by the dam in Black Canyon. The terrain rises sharply from the river valley toward the northern heights of Squaw Butte.
