Oatman Mountain and Face Mountain dominate this arid landscape where the Gila River cuts through the southwestern corner of Maricopa County. The geography is defined by extensive desert drainages, most notably Copper Wash, which feeds toward the river bottom near Oatman Flat. This 2011 survey documents a sparsely settled region tied together by a network of utilitarian desert tracks such as Hyder Rd, Government Rd, and Saddle Rd.
