Olallie Butte dominates the skyline of this high-altitude landscape where the boundaries of Marion, Jefferson, and Wasco counties converge. The terrain is defined by a dense network of volcanic peaks and alpine lakes, spanning the divide between Mount Hood National Forest and Willamette National Forest. This 2014 survey documents the wilderness character of the area, centered on the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as it winds past Olallie Meadow and numerous small water bodies like Jude Lake and Russ Lake.
