Center Crossroads and a dense network of rural junctions define the interior of this coastal plain landscape at the edge of Georgetown Co. The terrain is characterized by an intricate hydrology where names like Pennyroyal Swamp, Soccee Swamp, and Bose Swamp indicate the low-lying, water-saturated nature of the region. These wetlands are drained by numerous small watercourses such as Flat Swamp Run and Pittman Br, eventually flowing toward the Great Pee Dee River which curves along the northeastern boundary near Britton Neck.
