Palomas Plain and the surrounding desert peaks dominate this landscape in Yuma County, recorded through fieldwork by the U.S. Geological Survey during the late twentieth century. The terrain is defined by an intricate network of desert drainage systems, most notably the winding courses of Red Raven Wash and Hoodoo Wash. These ephemeral watercourses carve through the arid flats between the jagged rises of the Mountains.
