A sophisticated network of trails, most notably the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trl, provides the primary access through these protected lands. The naming conventions of the water bodies, such as Lake No-Se-Um, Wizzard Lake, and the Heavenly Twin Lakes, reflect a history of backcountry exploration.
