Perote and its neighboring crossroads settlements anchor this rural landscape where the boundaries of Bullock, Barbour, and Pike counties converge. The terrain is defined by a dense network of tributaries including Bogue Chitta Cr, Double Cr, and Perote Cr, all flowing toward the headwaters of the Pea River in the south.
