Pine Apple and the nearby settlement of Awin anchor this rural landscape where the borders of Wilcox, Butler, Monroe, and Conecuh counties converge. The terrain is defined by a dense network of drainages, including Pine Barren Creek, Turkey Cr, and Redicks Cr, which create the undulating topography characteristic of this part of southern Alabama. Many of the local landmarks are centered around long-standing community centers and family burial grounds, such as Jenkins Chapel Cem and Bethlehem Ch.
