Pinewood Springs and the nearby community of Noland define the residential character of this mountain landscape along the Larimer and Boulder County line. The area is defined by a complex network of water management features, including the Pole Hill Tunnel, Rattlesnake Tunnel, and the Pole Hill Canal, which move water through the high-elevation terrain to Pinewood Lake and the South Side Reservoir. These engineering works cut through the Roosevelt National Forest, navigating around prominent peaks like Moose Mtn and Blue Mtn.
