The international border between the United States Of America and Canada defines the northern reaches of this high-altitude landscape, where drainage systems like Boundary Creek and Olson Creek carve through the prominent elevations of the Rocky Mountains. The eastern portion of the sheet is dominated by the glacial waters of Upper Waterton Lake and the Waterton River, which flows through the Waterton Valley past Rainbow Falls.
