Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge converge in this arid corridor of Pima County. The landscape is defined by the broad Growler Valley and the drainage of the San Cristobal Wash, which cuts a path between prominent desert uplands. Human infrastructure is sparse, centered on the vital water source at Pozo Nuevo Well and the remote Pozo Nuevo Road.
