Suiattle River carved its path through the heart of this North Cascades landscape, where the Mount Baker National Forest covers high ridges and steep drainages. The Sauk-Suiattle Cem stands as a significant cultural marker near the river's bend, while the peak of Prairie Mountain and the high Prairie Mountain Lakes dominate the western portion of the quadrangle. In the east, Huckleberry Mtn rises above a network of timber and access routes, including Nat For Dev Rd 25 and Tenas Creek Rd. This 2017 survey details the complex hydrography of the region, from the dramatic Teepee Falls on Big Cr to the numerous tributaries like Straight Cr, All Cr, and Conrad Cr that feed the main river system across the Snohomish and Skagit county line.
