Punkin Center serves as the central focal point of this high plains landscape, situated at the junction of State Highway 71 and Highway 94. The area is defined by its agricultural grid and intermittent drainage systems, notably Horse Cr in the southwest and Mustang Cr in the northwest. In the northeast corner, S Rush Cr cuts through the terrain near the border of Elbert Co and Lincoln Co. The survey reveals a vast network of county roads, such as Co RD 24 and Co RD Z, which delineate the townships and ranges across this portion of the Colorado plains. This 2016 data captures the persistence of small rural hubs and the organized land management of the American West.
