About this map

Lake Chelan defines the eastern edge of this high-elevation wilderness in the late 1980s, where the water meets the steep slopes of the Chelan Mountains. The landscape is dominated by the Wenatchee National Forest and the Glacier Peak Wilderness, featuring a network of sharp peaks including Cardinal Peak and Pyramid Mtn. This period shows the primitive backcountry infrastructure of North Central Washington, with the Duncan Ridge Trail and Pugh Creek Trail providing the only overland access through the complex topography. To the south, the Entiat River drainage creates a distinct valley where Three Creek Campground and Spruce Grove Campground are located, serving as remote outposts for recreation in a terrain defined by steep ridges like Duncan Ridge and Pope Ridge.
