Quartz Mtn stands at the center of this high-elevation landscape, where the administrative boundaries of the Wenatchee National Forest and Snoqualmie National Forest meet. The terrain is defined by a series of prominent ridgelines, including Peaches Ridge and Taneum Ridge, which separate the drainages of the N Fork Taneum Cr and S Fork Manastash Cr. Small alpine water bodies like Taneum Lake, Lily-Pond Lake, and Shoestring Lake are scattered throughout the peaks, often found near named clearings such as Frost Meadows and Hereford Meadow. This 2014 survey documents the complex network of Forest Service roads and trails that provide access to these remote summits, including Mole Mtn and the isolated Fishhook Flats in the northeastern corner of the quadrangle.
