The Appalachian National Scenic Trail winds through this heavily glaciated corridor of the Maine North Woods, following the high ground near Nesuntabunt Mtn before descending toward the shores of Nahmakanta Lake. This 2014 survey captures a landscape defined by its complex hydrology, where numerous smaller basins like Pym Pond and the Bean Ponds are connected by a web of drainages including Rainbow Stream and Pollywog Stream.
