1968 Map of Ramona

USGS Topo · Published 1970

About this map

Ramona and the surrounding township of Badus characterize this prairie landscape in the late 1960s, defined by a grid of section lines and the path of the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul and Pacific railroad. The rails connect the small settlement of Junius to the northwestern corner of Madison, passing by a local Golf Course and the recreational grounds of Prairie Village. This area exhibits the agricultural layout of Lake County, where wetland features like Dooley Slough and the large expanse of Lake Herman break the geometric pattern of the fields.
