Rattlesnake Canyon and its associated drainage, Rattlesnake Cr, dominate the western half of this Malheur County landscape. The terrain is defined by a series of steep drainages including Woolhawk Canyon and Pistol Canyon, which feed into the primary system. This 2020 survey illustrates a high-desert environment where water management is critical for land use, evidenced by the distribution of several small catchments such as Bull Cr Reservoir and the Upper Chimney Cr Reservoir.
