Irishmans Dream Mine and the nearby Kathy Jo Mine sit atop the high mountain terrain of this Saguache County landscape, marking a legacy of extraction alongside other curiosities like the Indian Creek Bog Iron Mine. The area's hydrology is defined by the headwaters of Razor Creek and Prosser Creek, which feed into the Vouga Reservoir behind the Vouga Dam. Settlement is sparse and focused on established agricultural holdings such as the Flying M Ranch and Gould Ranch. The topography is a complex system of gulches, including Lightening Gulch and Wolverine Gulch, that drain toward wide natural openings like Mill Park and Lower Park. This 2011 survey documents a remote ranching and mining region where the namesake Razor Creek Dome stands as a primary geological landmark among the ridges of Green Mountain.
