Red Top Ranch is the namesake of this 2016 survey, representing the ranching character of Pueblo County. The landscape is defined by an intricate network of water management, visible through numerous family-named and utilitarian impoundments such as Studebaker Reservoir, Doyle Reservoir, and the School Section Reservoir. These features, alongside Peck Spring and Airy Spring, illustrate the vital role of water rights and storage in this arid portion of the Colorado plains.
