The Saranac River winds through the northern portion of this Adirondack region, connecting the small riverside settlements of Redford and Clayburg. This area of Clinton County is defined by its transition from valley floor to significant summits, including Signal Peak and Tolman Mtn. To the south, the landscape is dominated by the Silver Lake Mountains and Potter Mountains, framing the waters of Silver Lake near the community of Hawkeye. Within the Adirondack Park Preserve, the map documents numerous remote water features such as Whistle Pond and Mud Pond, alongside high-elevation clearings like Keniston Meadows. The infrastructure supports a mix of remote residency and aviation, highlighted by the Adirondack Airpark Estates Airport near Hardhack Ridge.
