Strohecker Ranch anchors the southern portion of this high plains landscape, situated near the seasonal drainage of S Fork Casper Cr. This part of Natrona County is characterized by a series of significant geologic breaks and elevation changes, most notably the namesake Reid Canyon and nearby Johnson Canyon in the central territory. To the west, the terrain rises toward Rattlesnake Hill, overlooking a complex of eroded landforms including Blue Canyon and Pasture Canyon.
