The high ridges of the Winchester Mountains dominate this southeastern Arizona landscape, where the southern reaches of the Coronado National Forest meet the boundary between Graham and Cochise counties. Centered on the 7,631-foot summit of Reiley Peak, the terrain transitions from steep, canyon-cut slopes to the alluvial fans of the San Pedro Valley. The drainage patterns are defined by seasonal watercourses like Hooker Creek, Ash Creek, and Reiley Creek, supplemented by localized water sources such as Box Spring and Mud Springs. Human activity in this arid environment is evidenced by ranching infrastructure including several corrals and Rose Tank, alongside extractive industry represented by a Gravel Pit and numerous wells. Distinctive geologic formations like Hooker Butte and Reiley Hill stand as significant landmarks against the desert floor.
