The mountain settlements of Rociada and Upper Rociada anchor this map at the boundary of San Miguel and Mora counties. This high-altitude landscape is defined by the steep canyons of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the Santa Fe Mountains, where the Sapello River and Manuelitas Cr gather runoff from numerous seasonal tributaries. The local heritage is preserved in the placement of the San Jose Cem, San Antonio Cem, and Santo Niño Cem, which serve these small villages. The terrain transitions from the residential developments near Club House Dr to the wilderness of the Santa Fe National Forest. Prominent landmarks like Hermits Peak and Lone Pine Mesa overlook a complex network of drainages including Porvenir Canyon and Hollinger Canyon.
