Roubidoux Creek meanders through this portion of Texas County, defining a landscape of deep valleys and timbered ridges. Much of the northern and central terrain is situated within the Mark Twain National Forest, where steep drainages like Jackson Hollow and Price Hollow break the upland plateau. Small communities and rural crossroads serve as focal points for the region, including the namesake settlement of Roubidoux and the villages of Plato and Turley.
