Sally Mtn and the northern reaches of the Lakeside Mountains dominate this portion of the eastern Great Basin. The landscape is defined by the sharp transition from the elevated peaks of the range down to the broad expanse of Puddle Valley to the west. A critical corridor for movement through this high desert terrain is Wrathall Pass, which provides a natural gap in the ridgeline. Apart from Lakeside Rd, which skirts the eastern base of the mountains, the area remains largely undeveloped, showcasing the classic basin and range topography of Box Elder County. This survey reflects the enduring solitude of the region, where land use is dictated by the steep contours of the mountains and the drainage patterns of the valley floor.
