The Hollister area and the southern Santa Clara Valley meet at the boundary of Santa Clara and San Benito counties in this 2021 topographic survey. The landscape is a transition from the level floor of the Hollister Valley and the wetlands of San Felipe Lake to the rising elevations of the Diablo Range in the northeast. Water management is a central feature of the terrain, visible in the drainage patterns of Tequisquita Slough, Pacheco Cr, and the winding Santa Ana Cr.
