Whitleys Peak rises above the northeastern shoreline of Santa Catalina Island, overlooking a series of small coves and beaches that define this stretch of the San Pedro Channel. The coastal topography includes the notable heights of Whitleys Peak and prominent landmarks such as Long Point and Hen Rock. The area is characterized by organized landings and retreats, including Camp Fox and the quiet waters of White Cove and Moonstone Cove. Small trails or access points like Pirates Cove link these shorelines to the interior terrain, while Torqua Spring provides a rare terrestrial water source in the hills above Moonstone Beach. This survey records the distinct coastline and navigational hazards along the island's lee side before the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean take over the remainder of the quadrangle.
