Satanta sits at the heart of this Western Kansas landscape, defined by a grid of agricultural fields and the infrastructure of the mid-century energy boom. The town is physically anchored by the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railroad, which bisects the quadrangle diagonally from the southwest to the northeast. Beyond the residential blocks, the plains are marked by extensive industrial activity, including the Lemon Northeast Oil Field and the expansive Victory and Gas Field.
