The Crazy Mountains dominate this high-elevation landscape within the Gallatin National Forest, where steep ridges and deep drainages define the border between Meagher and Park Counties. Prominent peaks including Scab Rock Mtn, Bear Mtn, and Goat Mtn rise above the surrounding valleys, providing the headwaters for several significant waterways. In the north, Sixteenmile Creek carves through the terrain, while the southern reaches are shaped by the Shields River and its various tributaries.
