Schley Mountain and Admiral Peak dominate this high-altitude landscape along the border of Mineral County, Montana, and Clearwater County, Idaho. Positioned within the Bitterroot Range, this terrain is defined by the sharp divide between the Lolo National Forest and Clearwater National Forest. The high ridges are punctuated by Schley Saddle, while the basins below hold a network of isolated alpine water bodies including Surveyor Lake, Kid Lake, and the Cedar Log Lakes. Drainage systems such as Cedar Log Creek and Indian Creek carve through the steep topography, illustrating the complex watershed of the northern Rockies. This 2014 survey documents the primitive forest road network, including routes like 7730 and 7734, which provide access to these remote summits and the broad glacial cirque of Irish Basin.
