Silver City and the neighboring seasonal community of Cabin Cove represent the primary human settlements in this steep, high-elevation portion of the Sierra Nevada. Situated within the boundaries of Sequoia National Park, the area is defined by the deep drainage of the E Fork Kaweah River and its numerous tributaries including Paradise Cr, Horse Cr, and Cahoon Cr. The terrain is characterized by prominent granite features and ridgelines such as Paradise Ridge, Conifer Ridge, and the distinct Castle Rocks.

South of the river canyon, the landscape rises toward high mountain meadows and peaks, including Hockett Meadows and Homers Nose. The map shows a transition from the lower canyons of Coffeepot Canyon to alpine lakes like Oriole Lake and Evelyn Lake.
