The high alpine environment of the Beartooth Mountains dominates this 2024 survey at the border of Montana and Wyoming. The landscape is defined by massive granite features like the Silver Run Plateau and sharp summits such as Silver Run Peak and Whitetail Peak. Glacial remnants are still visible, including the Grasshopper Glacier and Beartooth Glacier, which feed a complex network of high-elevation water bodies like September Morn Lake and the aptly named Abandoned Lake.
