Yellowstone National Park and Gallatin National Forest meet in this 2020 study of the high country in northern Park County. The terrain is defined by its drainages, where Hellroaring Creek and Specimen Creek cut through the high plateaus. A network of backcountry routes provides access through this wilderness, including the Hellroaring Creek Trail and the Coyote Creek Trail, which navigate the steep rises near Hellroaring Mountain and Bull Mountain.
