Ohio Creek and its many tributaries carve through this high-country landscape, where 21st-century mapping reveals a complex network of water management and legacy mining. The northern portion of the quadrangle is marked by several historic extraction sites, including the Smith Mine, Baldwin Star Mine, and the Ohio Mine, all clustered near the junction of County Rd 730. The topography is defined by prominent gulches such as Grays Gulch and Cunningham Gulch, while the local hydrology is heavily modified by an intricate system of ditches like the Highline Ditch and Acme Ditch. Infrastructure for water storage is evident at the Cunningham Reservoir and the Kenny Moore Reservoir, the latter of which is held by the Kenny Moore Dam. Roads like County Rd 727 provide access through the drainages of Mill Creek and Little Mill Creek, illustrating how modern transit continues to follow the natural contours of the drainages.
