Standing Rocks provides a name for this desert landscape within Coconino County, defined by a complex network of seasonal drainages and geological terraces. The northern portion of the quadrangle is dominated by the sprawling Ward Terrace and the striking Tloi Eechii Cliffs, which loom over the lower plains. Water management is a central theme in this arid environment, evidenced by numerous named collection points such as Bug Tanks, Kish Zhini Tank, and the aptly named No Water Tank.
