Stony Creek serves as the central hub of this Adirondack landscape, where the eponymous Stony Creek flows southeast toward its confluence with the Hudson River. The terrain is defined by a dense concentration of summits and valleys, including Baldhead Mtn, Moose Mtn, and the high peak of Hadley Mtn near the southern boundary. To the west, Welch Vly sits below Burnt Mtn, while several isolated water bodies like Wolf Pond and Bear Pond are scattered among the high ridges.
