Uinta National Forest lands dominate this high-altitude landscape, where the waters of the Strawberry Reservoir meet a series of complex infrastructure and recreation sites. The northeastern portion of the reservoir is defined by prominent features such as The Narrows and Island Mtn, while the Water Hollow Tunnel and its West Portal indicate the sophisticated water management systems required in this terrain. The shoreline is heavily utilized for public access, with numerous designated points including the Diving Rock Fisherman Access and the Soldier Creek Bay Fisherman Access. Higher elevations to the north and east are marked by Square Top Mtn and Windy Ridge, with travel corridors like Us HWY 40 providing the primary route through the forest. This 2014 survey documents the established recreational layout of the area, from the Soldier Creek Campground to the scenic Soldier Creek Overlook.
