The terrain transitions from the lowlands of the Tradewater River and Cypress Creek to prominent elevations such as Blueberry Hill and Hudson Hill. An extensive network of drainage infrastructure, including Smith Ditch and Bishop Ditch, crisscrosses the agricultural flats, illustrating the effort to reclaim the river bottomlands for farming. Along the northern edge, the Camp Breckinridge Military Res borders the area, while local history is preserved at numerous burial sites including Mt Gilead Cem and Pythian Ridge Cem.
