Sutter Buttes, the circular complex of eroded volcanic lava domes, dominates this map of the Sacramento Valley floor. The dramatic topography transitions sharply from the alluvial plains into high points like North Butte, West Butte, and South Butte. Between these peaks lie several named drainages and hollows, including Braggs Canyon, Huff Canyon, and Moore Canyon. To the north, Peace Valley provides a level break in the otherwise complex terrain near Old Craggy and Twin Peaks.
