This area is defined by the thermal activity and hydrogeology of the Mayacmas Mountains, most notably at The Geysers and throughout Geyser Canyon. The terrain is deeply incised by drainages such as Big Sulphur Cr and Little Sulphur Cr, which flow beneath prominent summits like Geyser Peak and Mahnke Peak.
