The San Juan River carves a dramatic path through this high desert landscape, forming the tight, meandering loops of The Goosenecks. To the south, the settlement of Halchita sits near the river's edge, while the northern terrain rises toward Cedar Mesa and Muley Point. This area is defined by massive sandstone formations and deep canyons, including portions of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the evocative vistas of the Valley of the Gods.
