About this map

Bluff City sits as a primary outpost along the San Juan River in this late nineteenth-century mapping of southeastern Utah. Based on topography by the Hayden Surveys, the landscape is defined by the massive uplift of the Abajo Mts, where prominent summits like Abajo Peak and Mt Linnaeus overlook a network of deep drainages. To the west, the high plateau of Elk Ridge features the distinctive Orejas del Oso landmarks.
