Three Fingered Jack rises at the center of this high-altitude landscape where the boundaries of Linn, Jefferson, and Deschutes counties converge. This modern survey illustrates the complex recreation and transit network of the High Cascades, split between the Willamette National Forest and the Deschutes National Forest. The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail winds north to south through the volcanic terrain, passing Summit Lake and Martin Lake near the western flank of the peaks. To the east, the landscape transitions into a high-basin floor punctuated by Suttle Lake and Blue Lake. The presence of numerous designated snow routes, such as the N Loop (Snow) and Trail 10 - Cache Mountain Loop (Snow), highlights the region's importance as a winter sports hub centered around the Santiam Pass and the drainage of Hoodoo Cr.
