Towaoc serves as the primary settlement on this portion of the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation, situated at the base of the prominent Mesa Verde West Rim. The layout of the community is clearly defined by residential streets such as Chief Ignacio St and N Beardance Rd, with the Ute Mountain Tribal Cem located on its southern edge. This 2019 survey documents a landscape where ancient geography and modern agricultural infrastructure intersect, notably at the Yucca House National Monument near the northern boundary.
