Tres Hermanos Peak and the prominent Turkey Mountain define this high-altitude landscape in Colfax County. The terrain is deeply incised by a series of drainages, including Rondeau Creek, Rio del Plano, and the winding Tinaja Creek to the north. These watercourses are flanked by numerous canyons such as Slagel Canyon, Screw Plate Canyon, and Van Bruggen Canyon, which speak to the complex erosion patterns of the region.
