Salton City stands as a prominent planned community on the western shore of the Salton Sea, its extensive grid of streets named for nautical themes and world seas. Located in the desert of the Imperial Valley, the area is defined by a series of dry desert washes including Iberia Wash, Arroyo Salada, and Coral Wash that channel drainage from the higher ground toward the sea. The community of Truckhaven sits further south along State Hwy 86, the primary transit corridor through this arid landscape.
