The area is defined by a series of prominent peaks and hills, including Jones Hill, Fellows Hill, and The Pinnacle, which overlook the glacial valleys of Labrador Creek and Shackham Brook. Settlement patterns follow the hollows and old rail corridors, most notably at Apulia Station and Markham Hollow.
