The Green River carves a dramatic serpentine path through the heart of Canyonlands National Park in this 1980s-era survey. The river flows through Stillwater Canyon, rounding the prominent Turks Head butte and passing alluvial features such as Tuxedo Bottom and Unknown Bottom. The landscape is dominated by the massive erosional terraces of the White Rim and the Canyon Benches, while the high plateau of the Island in the Sky looms to the northeast.

Remote 4WD tracks represent the only overland access to these depths, navigating around landmarks like Ekker Butte, Castle Butte, and Junction Butte. The map details the boundary between Canyonlands National Park and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area to the west, as well as the county line between Wayne and San Juan Counties which follows the river's centerline.
